Xmas number one is no fun!

aww i hate my self for that cheesy title, what was i thinking!
Any way hi, i was not going to do a blog today but i thought fuck it i will, and so my first subject is the Christmas number one, very much a British "thing", its been held in the pop industry has a high point in an artists career but recently its been tainted by the machine that is reality TV. Hours of this shit is churned out onto the British TV on an almost daily bases, which brings me to shows like Pop Idol, Britain's got talent, Popstars and the Xmas number one thief itself The x factor. Shows like this are having an effect on the music industry by bring us pop stars who are all backed but the same Labels, managed by the same people and just the same as the last reality TV star we had shoved in our face. It just takes the color and charm and some times down right strangeness out of the pop charts!
This brings me back to Xmas number one. That festive top spot has been dominated by x factor winners for the past 6 years, excluding 2009 which was won but Rage Against The Machine thanks to a huge Facebook campaign.
It was a welcome change from the Simon Cowell's puppets but sadly last year we fell back into the vicious circle with x factor winner Matt Cardle. Even after attempts from Facebook to get songs such as Bird Is The Word, Raining Blood and John Cage's 4'33" which is just 4 minutes and 33 seconds of silents.
But i don't fucking want x factor winners or Rage Against The Machine as Xmas number one, I JUST WANT A SONG THAT IS ABOUT CHRISTMAS!! It makes me sound old, i know, but stuff like "Merry Christmas Everyone" or "Mistletoe and Wine" or god help us all Slade's "Merry Xmas Everybody"! Just good, cheesy, wholesome stuff.
but I know I'm probably one of hundreds of people that are saying this, so once again I'm just a unheard voice. And also i know i have just been ripping x factor artists but being the music whore i am i still like there stuff..... sadly.
So there it is! Not sure how to finish up so i will just leave you with a Simon Cowell quote: "You are a saucy little thing aren't you?"
